Regular Season Round 29: Kastoria - Amyntas Dafnis 83-88

The most shocking disappointment of round 29 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Kastoria (16-13) to eighth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (15-14) 88-83. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kastoria won third quarter 33-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Amyntas Dafnis won last quarter 22-19. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Andriano Topalis (201-87) stepped up and scored 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (197-83) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Nikos Kaklamanos (189-81) responded with 18 points and point guard Ioannis Karamalegkos (191-94) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Four Kastoria players scored in double figures. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Doxa Lefkadas and Ermis Agias. Kastoria lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Ethnikos. Amyntas Dafnis' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri GS.
