Regular Season Round 32: Dzukija - Juventus 68-73
Date: April 29, 2018
The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Juventus' (12-22) road victory over 9th ranked Dzukija (10-25) 73-68. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-21 Dzukija's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 73-68 at the end of the game. Juventus shot 24 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Dzukija only scored eight points from the stripe. Dzukija was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by center Karolis Guscikas (205-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) did not help to save the game for Dzukija. Russian center Anatoly Kashirov (215-87) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Dzukija's coach Nikola Vasilev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus moved-up to seventh place. Dzukija at the other side keeps the ninth position with 25 games lost. Juventus will play against higher ranked Siauliai (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dzukija will play against Neptunas (#3) in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
