Regular Season Round 9: BA CoE - Canberra C. II 60-65

Date: May 2, 2018
Very predictable result in Canberra where second ranked Nationals (4-2) beat 8th ranked BA CoE (1-6) 65-60 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But BA CoE won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Brittni Montgomery (190-92, college: Cent.Florida) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Kate Gaze (173-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Isabelle Bourne (186-0) who recorded 10 points and Agnes Emma-Nnopu added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively. BA CoE's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Nationals went down to third position (League) due to points difference. Loser BA CoE keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Nationals will face league's leader Lady Cobras in Kilsyth in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BA CoE will play at home against the league's leader Lady Cobras (#1) and hope to win that game.
