Regular Season Round 31: Rouen - Le Havre 89-85

Very expected game when 15th ranked STB Le Havre (9-22) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked SPO Rouen (16-15) 89-85. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 33-18. But STB Le Havre won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded STB Le Havre 44-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. SPO Rouen players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Nigerian-British guard Obi Emegano (190-93, college: ORU) accounted for 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Angolan center Joaquim Valdelicio (208-90, college: Hawaii, agency: Duran International) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for STB Le Havre in the defeat. Four STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. SPO Rouen moved-up to eighth place. STB Le Havre lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 22 games lost. SPO Rouen's next round opponent will be Caen (#13) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. STB Le Havre will play against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
