Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (18-11) against sixth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (16-13) on Sunday night. Visiting Hapoel Jerusalem was defeated by Hapoel Tel-Aviv in a tough game in Tel-Aviv 81-86. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-21 Hapoel Jerusalem's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 86-81 at the end of the game. Naturalized American Adrian Banks (191-86, college: Arkansas St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Galil Gilboa. Defending champion Hapoel Jerusalem dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against higher ranked Maccabi Ashdod (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Hapoel Eilat and hopes to get back on the winning track.
