No shocking result in a game in Wantirna South where fifth ranked Magic (5-2) defeated 7th ranked Knox Raiders (4-4) 83-73 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Jack Barry (-94) who scored 21 points. Patrick McBrearty chipped in 17 points. Magic's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Christopher Kaba (203-88, college: N.Colorado) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Durrell McDonald (188, college: Mercyhurst) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Magic maintains fifth place in League with 5-2 record. Loser Knox Raiders keep the seventh position with four games lost. Magic will face Casey C. (#6) in Cranbourne in the next round. Knox Raiders will play on the road against Devils in Werribee and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
