A very interesting game took place in Malaga. It ended with only one-point home defeat of higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (18-14) to sixteenth ranked Zaragoza (10-22) 83-82 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Unicaja Malaga was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 27-23 charge of Zaragoza, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Gary Neal (193-84, college: Towson) saved the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Montenegrin-Serbian power forward Milko Bjelica (207-84, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Jeffrey Brooks (203-89, college: Penn St.) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Finnish Sasu Salin (191-91) added 16 points in the effort for Unicaja Malaga. Four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Zaragoza maintains sixteenth position with 10-22 record. Unicaja Malaga at the other side keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Zaragoza's next round opponent will be higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#10) in Madrid and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
