Regular Season Round 32: Hapoel J-M - Maccabi Rishon 81-75

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Maccabi Rishon (11-21) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (20-12) 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Maccabi Rishon was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Maccabi Rishon 47-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American swingman Tarence Kinsey (200-84, college: S.Carolina) who scored that evening 16 points and 9 rebounds and Dominican-American forward Ronald Roberts (203-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Rishon. His fellow American import guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) added 17 points and 4 assists for the guests. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Maccabi Rishon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 21 games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem's next round opponent will be Ironi Nes-Ziona (#8) in Nes Ziyona where they are favorite. Maccabi Rishon will play at home against Maccabi Ashdod and hope to win that game.
