An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Barquisimeto. Top-ranked Guaros faced 3rd ranked Cocodrilos. Host Guaros (14-0) defeated guests from Caracas (7-9) 79-63. Guaros dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Cocodrilos' 24. Guaros forced 19 Cocodrilos turnovers. It was a good game for international center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cocodrilos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaros have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Cocodrilos at the other side keep the third place with nine games lost. Guaros will play against league's second-placed Trotamundos in Valencia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cocodrilos will have a break next round.
