Rather predictable result in Mount Waverley where fourth ranked Waverley Falcons (13-6) smashed 8th ranked Hume City Broncos (8-12) 89-47 on Sunday. Waverley Falcons dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hume City Broncos' 28. They outrebounded Hume City Broncos 51-31 including a 42-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Waverley Falcons looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Hume City Broncos' players. It was a great evening for the former international guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists. Center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) helped adding 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Trevon Clayton (198, college: Fresno Pacific) responded with 19 points and the other American import guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) scored 6 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Waverley Falcons moved-up to third place in League. Loser Hume City Broncos keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Waverley Falcons will face Devils (#10) in Werribee in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hume City Broncos will play on the road against Casey C. in Cranbourne and hope to win that game.
