The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SPO Rouen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SPO Rouen defeated 7th ranked Besancon at home 83-75. SPO Rouen made 29-of-35 charity shots (82.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Besancon turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Benoit Injai (186-1997) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Tim Eboh (197-1997) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. SPO Rouen's coach Sylvain Delorme allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Mykal Riley (198-1985, college: Alabama) answered with 17 points and American-Nigerian forward Anthony Elechi (203-1993, college: Morehead St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Besancon. Four Besancon players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for SPO Rouen. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Besancon at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Besancon will play next round against STB Le Havre trying to get back on the winning streak. SPO Rouen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
