The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mickiewicz as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mickiewicz smashed 10th ranked MKS DG 2 in Katowice 123-82. Mickiewicz dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 52. They outrebounded MKS DG 2 43-25 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mickiewicz shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by MKS DG 2's players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Lukasz Klaczek (203-2000) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Tomasz Krzyminski (201-2001) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Mickiewicz players scored in double figures. Dawid Boryka (188-1997) answered with 20 points and guard Kacper Margiciok (191-2003) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for MKS DG 2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mickiewicz (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 4 other teams. MKS DG 2 lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Gliwice 2. MKS DG 2 will play next round against Cracovia trying to get back on the winning streak. Mickiewicz will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked AZS PC in Czestochowa.
