Regular Season Round 5: Bisons - Kipina 104-100

An interesting game for Bisons (4-1) which hosted in Loimaa 4th placed Kipina (3-2). Third ranked Bisons managed to get a 4-point victory 104-100. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kipina. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It looked good early as Kipina took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bisons had a 26-18 second period charge getting the lead and Kipina was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 100-104. Bisons made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Kipina was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Jordan Roberts (203, college: LBSU, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Santeri Makkonen (195-2001) chipped in 21 points. Bisons' coach Darko Mihajlovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Brian Cameron (188-1997, college: Wesley) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard ArMond Davis (196-1995, college: UCSB) scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bisons. They moved-up to second place, which they share with ToPo Juniorit. Newly promoted Kipina dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with HNMKY and Kouvot Ak.. Bisons will play against Kouvot Ak. (#7) in Kouvola in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kipina will play at home against Jyvaskyla BA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
