Gladiators has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Uni Baskets (3-3) on the road game in Paderborn 85-77 on Friday. Gladiators made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gladiators made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American Parker Van Dyke (191-1994, college: Utah) who scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Garai Zeeb (187-1997) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) who recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and center Aaron Kayser (205-1999) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Uni Baskets' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gladiators (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Leverkusen. Loser Uni Baskets keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams.
