Regular Season Round 5: Midtbyen - Baerum 42-63

Very significant was Baerum's (#2, 4-1) victory against 4th placed Midtbyen (3-3) 63-42. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Midtbyen. Baerum dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Midtbyen's 24. They outrebounded Midtbyen 58-30 including a 30-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Julie McCarthy (190-1993, college: Florida Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 24 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Makana Stone (183, college: Whitman) chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds. Henriette Hofermann responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Emma Mathilde Tallaksen (174-1999) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Baerum have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 4-1 record having five points less than leader Ulriken. Midtbyen at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Baerum are looking forward to face league's leader Ulriken in Bergen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Midtbyen will play at home against Storm U. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
