Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Hapoel Eilat (1-4) was rolled over at home by leader Maccabi Tel-Aviv (4-0) 96-74 on Sunday. Maccabi Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Eilat's 22 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Maccabi Tel-Aviv forced 19 Hapoel Eilat turnovers and outrebounded them 33-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Ivorian power forward Alexander Poythress (203-1993, college: Kentucky) who scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Jake Cohen (209-1990, college: Davidson) chipped in 14 points. Four Maccabi Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Kattash felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Eric Griffin (203-1990, college: Campbell) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Netanel Artzi (197-1997) added 23 points respectively for the hosts. Maccabi Tel-Aviv have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with H.Tel-Aviv. Loser Hapoel Eilat dropped to the bottom place with four games lost. They share the position with E.Kiryat Ata and H.Be'er Sheva. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tel Aviv Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
