Leader T71 delivered the eighth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Sparta (3-6) 87-72 in Dudelange. They outrebounded Sparta 43-24 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Jimmie Taylor (193-1994, college: Rider) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Moses Greenwood (201-1997, college: SE Louisiana) chipped in 19 points and 16 rebounds. Taylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. T71's coach Jeff Wampach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Yannick Verbeelen (191-1998) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American guard LaVone Holland II (190-1994, college: NKU) scored 20 points. T71 maintains first place with 8-1 record, which they share with Etzella. Loser Sparta dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Grengewald and Arantia. T71 will meet league's leader Etzella in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sparta will play against Grengewald (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
