No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Cluj CSU (2-2) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Gheorgheni (0-4) 93-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Cluj CSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Cluj CSU forced 23 Gheorgheni turnovers. Center Mihnea-Tudor Brie (196-2001) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Ciprian Albu (-2002) accounted for 20 points. Tamas Bodo came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and Tamas Laszlo added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Gheorgheni in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cluj CSU moved-up to third place, which they share with Sibiu 2. Newly promoted Gheorgheni still closes the standings with four games lost. Cluj CSU will meet at home Oradea 2 (#6) in the next round. Gheorgheni will play against Brasov and hopes to get finally their first victory.
