There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Balikesir (3-3) was edged at home by eleventh ranked Fenerbahce 2 (2-4) 108-105 on Monday. Fenerbahce 2 made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman DShawn Schwartz (201-1999, college: GMU) who scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Marreon Jackson (185, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-1995, college: Niagara) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists and Berke Aygunduz (196-1998) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fenerbahce 2 moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Mamak. Loser Balikesir keeps the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with OGM Orman. Fenerbahce 2 will meet at home higher ranked Sigortam.net (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Balikesir will play against TED Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
