Regular Season Round 7: M.Rishon - M.Haifa 96-81

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Maccabi Rishon (6-1) defeated 9th ranked M.Haifa (2-5) in Rishon Le-Zion 96-81. Maccabi Rishon made 27-of-35 charity shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while M.Haifa only scored eleven points from the stripe. They outrebounded M.Haifa 42-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. Maccabi Rishon players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. M.Haifa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Rakeem Buckles (202-1990, college: FIU, agency: GoEmpire Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Jonatan Mor (204-1995) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward DeSean Parsons (201-1995, college: Portland St.) responded with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Admon Gilder (193-1995, college: Gonzaga) scored 20 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Maccabi Rishon. They moved-up to second place, which they share with H.Afula. M.Haifa lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Maccabi Rishon will play against Ramat Hash. (#12) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. M.Haifa will play at home against M.Ramat Gan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
