Regular Season Round 8: Pesaro - Sassari 81-75
Date: November 27, 2022
There was no surprise when 10th ranked Sassari (3-5) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Pesaro (5-3) 81-75 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pesaro made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman (193-1994, college: Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and the other American import power forward Kwan Cheatham Jr (206-1995, college: Akron) who added 8 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (207-1990) responded with 18 points and American guard Gerald Robinson (185-1989, college: Georgia) scored 15 points. Sassari's coach Piero Bucchi let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pesaro moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Trento. Loser Sassari dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Brindisi and Napoli. Pesaro will meet Trento (#6) on the road in the next round. Sassari will play against the league's second-placed Milano and hope to secure a win.
