Regular Season Round 8: VKKM - Panevezio 140-82

U18 League top team - VKKM (7-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Panevezio (4-4) in Vilniaus 140-82. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 140-82. VKKM dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to Panevezio's 46. They outrebounded Panevezio 65-27 including a 46-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. VKKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by Panevezio's players. Point guard Justas Ziubrys (183-2005) orchestrated the victory by scoring 45 points (!!!). Vygantas Zaboras (-2005) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Arnas Stankevicius (-2005) replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Kristupas Dula (-2005) added 21 points in the effort for Panevezio. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VKKM have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with VKM. Panevezio at the other side keeps the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Zalgiris I. VKKM's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilniaus to the arena SKM I.
