Regular Season Round 7: Niksic - Lavovi 68-79

Bosnian Lavovi can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Niksic, where they defeated Montenegrin Niksic (1-5) 79-68 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. Lavovi forced 23 Niksic turnovers. It was a great evening for center Mirela Halilovic (183-1998) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 assists. Serbian guard Milica Djokic (178-2005) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. Lavovi's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Kosovan center Saranda Daci (190-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and center Teodora Saric (190-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four Lavovi and five Niksic players scored in double figures. Lavovi left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Niksic. It was Niksic's fourth loss in a row. Lavovi will meet at home higher ranked Orlovi (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Niksic will play against the league's second-placed Celje and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
