Very important is a road loss of third ranked Iraklis (6-3) against eleventh ranked Charilaos (5-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Iraklis was edged by Charilaos in a tough game in Mesolongi 90-93. Center Periklis Kouroupakis (206-2002) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and swingman Ioannis Molfetas (194-1992) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Five Charilaos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Kevion Taylor (196-1999, college: Valpo) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Dutch Nikos Paparegkas (200-1994) scored 24 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Charilaos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Iraklis at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Charilaos will play against higher ranked Megaridas (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
