Very predictable result when fourth ranked Peristeri (6-2) rolled over 9th ranked Ionikos (2-6) in Athens 96-67 on Saturday. Peristeri made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Peristeri outrebounded Ionikos 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international forward Dimitrios Agravanis (208-1994, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 14 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-1989, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American power forward Terell Parks (205-1991, college: W.Illinois) did not help to save the game for Ionikos. The former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-1984) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with AEK. Loser Ionikos dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Peristeri will meet Kolossos HH (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Ionikos will play against Aris and hope to secure a win.
