The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Gheorgheni's (0-7) road loss to sixth ranked Oradea 2 (2-5) 70-84 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea 2. Gheorgheni managed to win fourth quarter 22-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oradea 2 forced 29 Gheorgheni turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Alexandru Sandor (-2003) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Andrei Popescu (-2004) chipped in 3 points and 16 rebounds. Tamas Bodo produced 31 points and 9 rebounds and guard Matyas Lokody (190-1987) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oradea 2 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bucuresti E. Newly promoted Gheorgheni still closes the standings with seven games lost. Oradea 2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gheorgheni will play against Sibiu 2 (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
