Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Leverkusen (2-8) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (4-6) 91-85 on Sunday. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Naturalized American Daniel Norl (188-1995, college: Omaha) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and New Zealand forward Matt Freeman (207-1997, college: UCSB) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Five Eisbaeren Bremerhaven players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian swingman Abdul Mohamed (201-1995, college: Montana St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Xavier Bishop (173-1997, college: Montana St.) scored 16 points and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Muenster and Duesseldorf. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will meet higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
