The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Slovenian Celje as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Celje smashed 5th ranked Montenegrin Niksic at home 131-47. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Niksic to just 6 points in second quarter. Celje dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Niksic's 20. Celje forced 29 Niksic turnovers and outrebounded them 52-21 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 42 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Niksic's players. Lea Debeljak (176-2001) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 4 assists. Australian Taylah Simmons (185-1997, college: Southeastern) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Celje players scored in double figures. Celje's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Milena Jaksic (178-1998) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Zoja Canovic (172-2005) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Niksic. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Vojvodina 021. Niksic lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Lavovi. Niksic will play next round against strong Vojvodina 021 trying to get back on the winning streak. Celje will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Orlovi in Banja Luka.
