Regular Season Round 11: BIPA O. - Zaporizhye 85-57

No shocking result in a game when second ranked BIPA O. (8-1) crushed bottom-ranked Zaporizhye (1-10) in Odessa 85-57 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by BIPA O.. Zaporizhye managed to win fourth quarter 28-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zaporizhye to just 5 points in third quarter. BIPA O. made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. BIPA O. had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Ivan Riabchuk who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Evgeni Tkachenko (203-1983) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four BIPA O. players scored in double figures. BIPA O.'s coach Vadym Pudzyrei felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Roman Morozov (204-1998) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Vitaliy Telcharov (181-1996) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Zaporizhye in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for BIPA O.. Newly promoted BIPA O. maintains second place with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Budivelnyk, which they share with Kyiv Basket. Zaporizhye lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. BIPA O. will meet Stariy Lutsk (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zaporizhye will have a break next round.
