Regular Season Round 11: BIPA O. - Cherkasy 83-76

Very predictable result when second ranked BIPA O. (8-1) won against 8th ranked Cherkasy (1-9) in Odessa 83-76 on Friday. Cherkasy was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. BIPA O. made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Cherkasy turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Oleksandr Shashkov (185-1990) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Ilya Kabatsiura (198-1996, agency: Dreamer Sports Agency) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Demetrius Lake (180, college: GVSU) came up with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Sergii Skira (210-2000) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Cherkasy in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for BIPA O.. Newly promoted BIPA O. maintains second place with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Budivelnyk, which they share with Kyiv Basket. Cherkasy lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. BIPA O. will meet Stariy Lutsk (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cherkasy will have a break next round.
