Regular Season Round 15: Hagen BG - Hagen-Haspe 96-93

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Hagen-Haspe (7-8) was edged on the road by tenth ranked Hagen BG (7-8) 96-93 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American point guard Anthony Watkins (194-2000) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-1987) accounted for 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Hagen BG's coach Tome Zdravevski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Ricardo Artis II (198-1993, college: Wiley) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and Jordan Iloanya (195-2005) added 24 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hagen-Haspe in the defeat. Five Hagen BG and four Hagen-Haspe players scored in double figures. Hagen BG moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Hagen-Haspe. Hagen BG will meet higher ranked Hamm (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hagen-Haspe will play against the league's leader ETB Miners where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
