No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked T71 (11-4) beat 8th ranked Grengewald (5-10) in Dudelange 87-73 on Saturday. T71 dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Grengewald's 28. They outrebounded Grengewald 41-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jimmie Taylor (193-1994, college: Rider) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Joe Kalmes (200-1995) accounted for 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Taylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Austin Burgett (206-1993, college: Notre Dame) came up with 29 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Kevion Blaylock (198-1994, college: William Penn) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Grengewald in the defeat. T71 moved-up to second place, which they share with Etzella and Esch. Newly promoted Grengewald dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Sparta. T71 will meet Contern (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Grengewald will play against Heffingen and hope to secure a win.
