There was no surprise when 7th ranked Mataro Parc (6-6) was edged on the road by fourth ranked Girona B (8-3) 75-72 on Saturday. Strangely Mataro Parc outrebounded Girona B 46-32 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Kevin Torres (-2003) nailed 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Ferran Diaz (187-2003, agency: BIG) accounted for 18 points. Swingman Albert Serra (193-1993) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Pablo Fontanet (198-1999) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Mataro Parc in the defeat. Four Mataro Parc players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Girona B moved-up to second place, which they share with Guadalajara. Loser Mataro Parc keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Girona B will meet Castelldefels (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mataro Parc will play against Almozara and hope to secure a win.
