Regular Season Round 14: Cankaya - Nesibe 67-65

The most exciting game of round 14 in the KBSL took place in Ankara. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Nesibe (9-5) to eighth ranked Cankaya (6-8) 67-65 on Saturday evening. American point guard Tyasha Harris (178-1998, college: S.Carolina) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists. The other American import center Queen Egbo (190-2000, college: Baylor) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Cankaya players scored in double figures. American-North Macedonian forward Merritt Hempe (190-1994, college: Georgia) replied with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Chelsea Nelson (188-1996, college: NC State) added 14 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Nesibe. Cankaya have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 6-8 record, which they share with Besiktas. Nesibe at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Emlak. Cankaya is looking forward to face higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nesibe will play at home against Besiktas and is hoping to win this game.
