The game in Contern was also quite interesting. Third ranked T71 (12-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Contern (7-9). T71 defeated Contern 87-73 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Contern. They outrebounded Contern 43-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Moses Greenwood (201-1997, college: SE Louisiana) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and the former international power forward Joe Kalmes (200-1995) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Five T71 players scored in double figures. Even 31 points and 7 rebounds by American swingman Tyler Cartaino (198-1996, college: Chaminade) did not help to save the game for Contern. His fellow American import guard Clay Guillozet (193-1997, college: Valdosta St.) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. T71 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Esch. Contern at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. T71 will meet at home Soleuvre (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Contern will play against Grengewald (#10) in Niederanven and hope to secure a win.
