Regular Season Round 14: Apollon - E.N. Paralimni 83-77
Date: January 14, 2023
No shocking result in a game in Limassol where fifth ranked Apollon (8-5) defeated 10th ranked E.N. Paralimni (2-11) 83-77 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-77. Apollon dominated on the defensive end, holding E.N. Paralimni to just 7 points in second quarter. American center Taylor Adway (205-1996, college: Ferris St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ghanian-American guard Milan Acquaah (190-1997, college: CBU) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American guard Brandon McKissic (190, college: Florida) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and American-Nigerian forward Stephen Ugochukwu (201-1996, college: McNeese St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Apollon have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 8-5 record. E.N. Paralimni lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 11 games lost. Apollon will meet higher ranked AEK Larnaca (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. E.N. Paralimni will play against the league's second-placed Apoel (#2) and hope to secure a win.
