The game in Glyfada supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Panathinaikos (16-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Esperides (9-8). Panathinaikos smashed Esperides 92-61. Panathinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Esperides' 36. Panathinaikos forced 20 Esperides turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Esperides' players. The former international swingman Eleanna Christinaki (184-1996, college: Maryland) nailed 19 points and 5 assists for the winning side and Canadian power forward Emily Potter (196-1995, college: Utah) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds. Panathinaikos' coach Eleni Kapogianni felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Romanian forward Anamaria Virjoghe (196-1999, college: Gonzaga) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Zoi Korre (178-2000) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for Esperides in the defeat. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Panathinaikos. They maintain second place with 16-1 record having just one point less than leader Olympiacos. Esperides at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Panathinaikos will play against league's leader Olympiacos in Piraeus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Esperides will play on the road against Proteas (#8) in Voula and hopes to get back on the winning track.
