Regular Season Round 15: Raiders Basket - Kipina 115-101

There was a surprise result in Jarvenpaa where twelfth ranked Raiders Basket (3-12) defeated 4th placed Kipina (9-6) 115-101 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 17-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Raiders Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Kipina's 44. They outrebounded Kipina 59-44 including a 42-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Raiders Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Jordan Perkins (185-1998, college: Longwood) who had a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Forward Devaughn Jenkins (201-1995, college: Angelo St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 22 rebounds. Raiders Basket's coach Besim Maxhuni used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Brian Cameron (188-1997, college: Wesley) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists and guard ArMond Davis (196-1995, college: UCSB) added 27 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Raiders Basket maintains twelfth place with 3-12 record. Newly promoted Kipina keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with HNMKY and ToPo Juniorit. Raiders Basket will meet higher ranked Kouvot Ak. (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kipina will play against the league's leader Bisons (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
