Not a big story in a game in Izmir where 9th ranked Galatasaray (7-10) was defeated by third ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (12-5) 103-91 on Saturday. Pinar Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Colombian swingman Braian Angola-Rodas (198-1994, college: FSU) who scored 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American guard Errick McCollum (188-1988, college: Goshen) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. American point guard Daron Russell (180-1998, college: Maryland) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian center Dusan Ristic (213-1995, college: Arizona, agency: BeoBasket) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Pinar Karsiyaka and four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains third place with 12-5 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Galatasaray lost fifth consecutive game.
