Regular Season Round 19: Rieti Kienergia - Monferrato 88-78

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Monferrato (5-13) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Rieti Kienergia (3-14) 88-78 on Sunday. Rieti Kienergia outrebounded Monferrato 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Darryl Tucker (201-1995, college: UWF) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jordan Geist (188-1997, college: Missouri, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Rieti Kienergia's coach Gabriele Ceccarelli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-1994) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-1989) added 17 points respectively for Monferrato in the defeat. Newly promoted Rieti Kienergia maintains thirteenth place with 3-14 record. Monferrato lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Rieti Kienergia will meet higher ranked Piacenza (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monferrato will have a break next round.
