Regular Season Round 17: Galatasaray - Antalya 65-66

The most exciting game of round 17 in the U19 League took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Galatasaray (11-6) to sixth ranked Antalya Gelism (7-10) 66-65 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Galatasaray. Antalya Gelism made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Galatasaray 45-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Galatasaray helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Yunus Nur (-2003) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Cagan Ozgur (-2005) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ata Gul (-2005) responded with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Efe Vatan (-2004) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Antalya Gelism maintains sixth place with 7-10 record, which they share with Merkezefendi. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Gelisim Koleji and Besiktas. Antalya Gelism is looking forward to face Bahcesehir (#9) in Acibadem in the next round. Galatasaray will play on the road against the league's leader Gaziantep (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
