Very expected game in Nicosia where 11th ranked Omonia (2-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Apollon (12-6) 84-80. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 30-20 Omonia's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 84-80 at the end of the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Zane Waterman (203-1995, college: Manhattan) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. Ghanian-American guard Milan Acquaah (190-1997, college: CBU) accounted for 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Apollon players scored in double figures. American forward Romelo Burrell (201, college: Lindenwood) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian guard Cody John (190-1996, college: Weber St.) added 20 points and 8 assists respectively for Omonia in the defeat. Apollon have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 12-6 record. Omonia at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Apollon will play against league's leader Keravnos in Nicosia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Omonia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nicosia to the arena Keravnos.
