Regular Season Round 19: Melilla - Zamora 51-68

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Zamora (9-10) beat on the road 7th ranked Melilla (9-10) 68-51 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Luke Moyer (185-1993, college: John Brown, agency: Players Group) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Naturalized Lithuanian forward Erikas Kalinicenko (198-1997) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Zamora's coach Saulo Hernandez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Lithuanian Giedrius Stankevicius (207-1996) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Senegalese center Massine Fall (208-1993) added 5 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Melilla in the defeat. Zamora moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Melilla. Zamora will meet higher ranked Algeciras (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Melilla will play against Talavera and hope to secure a win.
