The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifteenth ranked SparkassenStars' (8-13) home victory over 16th ranked Leverkusen (7-15) 101-86 on Saturday. SparkassenStars looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard TJ Crockett (185-1999, college: Lindenwood) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Jalen Bradley (185-1993, college: ORU) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian guard Kadre Gray (186-1997, college: Laurentian) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four SparkassenStars and five Leverkusen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SparkassenStars moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Leverkusen dropped to the seventeenth position with 15 games lost. SparkassenStars will meet higher ranked 46ers (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Leverkusen will play against Uni Baskets (#12) and hope to secure a win.
