Second Stage Round 6: Delikatesas - Kretinga 90-75

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Delikatesas (14-18) beat 12th ranked Kretinga (11-20) in Joniskis 90-75 on Saturday. American center Corey Boyd (206-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and center Povilas Gaidys (206-1991, college: Southeastern) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Boyd is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Delikatesas' coach Zilvinas Petraitis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by Ukrainian center Valerii Anisimov (208-1990) did not help to save the game for Kretinga. Ukrainian Olexandr Misyats (200-1992, agency: BIG) added 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Delikatesas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Silute. Loser Kretinga dropped to the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Delikatesas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kretinga will play against Vilkaviskis (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
