Regular Season Round 17: Aias Evosmou - Maroussi 94-81

The biggest surprise took place in Evosmou where host Aias Evosmou (6-11) beat league's leader Maroussi (11-6) 94-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Maroussi. Aias Evosmou forced 19 Maroussi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Maroussi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Kyree Walker (198-2000) who scored 26 points. Point guard Filippos Kalogiannidis (192-1994) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. Point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Nikolaos Kamarianos (204-1997) added 22 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aias Evosmou moved-up to thirteenth place. Maroussi at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Iraklis. They were replaced at the leadership position by Panerythraikos. Maroussi will play next round against Ermis S. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Aias Evosmou will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Iraklis in Thessaloniki.
