Rather expected game in Rishon Le-Zion where 5th ranked M.Raanana (11-8) was defeated by third ranked Maccabi Rishon (13-6) 86-81 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American guard Isaiah Cousins (193-1994, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Jawun Evans (185-1996, college: OK State) helped adding 23 points. At the losing side naturalized American Willy Workman (198-1990, college: Amherst) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Jason Siggers (194-1985, college: Albany, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Five M.Raanana players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon maintains third place with 13-6 record behind leader H.Afula. Loser M.Raanana keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with I.Nahariya and M.Ma'ale Adum.. Maccabi Rishon will meet M.Haifa (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. M.Raanana will play against M.Ramat Gan (#8) and hope to secure a win.
