Regular Season Round 18: Kyiv Basket - Zaporizhye 89-44

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Zaporizhye (2-19) was outplayed on the road by fourth ranked Kyiv Basket (13-7) 89-44 on Sunday. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Zaporizhye to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Kyiv Basket forced 23 Zaporizhye turnovers and outrebounded them 50-32 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kyiv Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Zaporizhye's players. The best player for the winners was forward Vadim Zaplotinskiy (200-1997, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Coach Vladimir Holopov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Roman Morozov (204-1998) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and center Illya Dmytrenko (205-2003) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Kyiv Basket maintains fourth position with 13-7 record. Zaporizhye lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Kyiv Basket will meet at home Cherkasy (#8) in the next round.
