Regular Season Round 17: Raholan P. - HyPo 75-66

Another exciting game was played in Tampere between eighth ranked Raholan P. and 5th ranked HyPo where host Raholan P. (9-8) won against HyPo (10-7) 75-66. It looked good early as HyPo took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Raholan P. took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 9 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding HyPo to just 7 points in second quarter. Raholan P. players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Swingman Jesse Niemi (194-1990) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Bulgarian guard Angel Mavrodiev (183-1991) contributed with 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Roy Hinkkanen (182-1997) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Kalle Mattila (199-2005) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for HyPo. Four Raholan P. and five HyPo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Raholan P. maintains eighth place with 9-8 record. HyPo at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ura Basket and Kataja Ta.. Raholan P. will play against Leppavaaran P. (#11) in Pyrinto in the next round. HyPo will play at home against PeU-Basket (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
