Regular Season Round 20: Papagou - Charilaos 90-85
Date: February 25, 2023
Not a big story in a game in Athens where 11th ranked Charilaos (9-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Papagou (13-7) 90-85 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Papagou made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Panagiotis Kois (200-1998) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Tyler Peterson (193-1997, college: S.Dakota) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Papagou players scored in double figures. Papagou's coach Michalis Kouris used entire bench in such tough game. American point guard TJ Washington (183-1998, college: Utah Valley) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Nikos Houhoumis (186-1996) scored 21 points. Papagou have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maroussi. Loser Charilaos keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Papagou's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Maroussi.
